2022 was the first year that the MAC Scholars-SCW participated in the SCW Homecoming Parade. Members of the Leadership teamed worked together to create a "Los Angeles" banner for the "Bright Lights, Big City" themed event. The MAC Scholars chose LA as their theme city largely because of it's diversity, but also because it's a place known for a lot of "stars" --much like our MAC Scholars program!
2021 Joshua Nelson Leaders In Action Scholarship Debut
In the Spring of 2021, the first Joshua Nelson Leaders In Action MAC Scholars Scholarship was presented to Darrel Montalvo-Luna by Joshua Nelson, both graduates of SCW Class of 2021. Joshua Nelson created the scholarship fund by donating $1,000 of his own money that he had saved for his personal college expenses. Now the scholarship is given annually.
2021 West Fest
MAC Scholars hosted the Warrior Toss and Water Gun Race for the first SCW West Fest.
2021 MAC Scholars Achievements
Joshua Nelson, the first MAC Scholars-SCW President, was presented with the Presidents Scholarship by Lenell Hahn, SEMO University's Director of Admissions. The President's Scholsarship is the most prestigious scholarship offered at SEMO University and is worth $40,000 over 4 years.
2020 Summer Academy
Our first MAC Scholars-SCW activity was the Summer Academy where students participated in an ACT Prep and AP Prep program.
