Why Are Friends of MAC Scholars-St. Charles West Needed?
Most of us are familiar with the famous African proverb that says, "It takes a village to raise a child." In addition, there is also a South African proverb that states, "A person is a person because of other people." Both of these proverbs illustrate the importance of having community members who are willing to contribute to the knowlege, growth and development of our youth.
Whether you're able to contribute to our MAC Scholars of SCW by donating your time and knowledge, offering job shadowing opportunities, sponsoring meals or donating money or supplies--we greatly appreciate any support you are willing to give to our program and students.

THANK YOU TO THE FOLLOWING FRIENDS...
Renee Fortner & Friends
We want to thank Renee Fortner and friends for sponsoring the first ever MAC Scholar-SCW ACT Prep session. Mrs. Fortner graciously organized a fundraiser via her connection of friends on Facebook which enabled us to sponsor 12 students to participate, free of charge, in two, 3-hour sessions where they reviewed material and received strategies to help them prepare to take and improve their scores on the ACT. Mrs. Fortner presented Mrs. Curry, MAC Scholars Sponsor and SCW Principal, Dr. Scott Voelkl with the $500 donation. (Pictured below (left to right) Renee Fortner, Yolanda Curry and Dr. Scott Voelkl)
