Our Purpose

 The aim of the MAC Scholars program is to encourage historically under-represented students within the district to maximize their academic potential and become college and career ready by engaging in the district’s Honors, Advanced Placement(AP) and College Credit courses, becoming eligible for the A+ Program and/or eligible for Lewis and Clark Career Center. 

The MAC Scholars program seeks to provide opportunities for students to develop and sharpen the skills necessary to succeed in high school and beyond.  ​​

MAC Scholars Leadership Team

Helping to shape the future of the MAC Scholars Program are the Leadership Team and Round Table members.  These leaders will serve as MAC Scholars Ambassadors.  Leadership Team students will assist in creating and facilitating programs for their peers.  Leadership Team members must have a 3.4+ GPA  and have taken or are currently enrolled in at least one advanced level course.  Round Table Leaders must have a 2.5-3.39 GPA.
Both  Leadership and Round Table Members must also have: 
  • Good discipline record
  • Good citizenship 
The Leadership Team  Our goal is to provide information, strategies and support that will assist students of color in increasing overall academic achievement.

MAC Scholars Mission

The mission of the MAC Scholars Program is to inspire students of color to maximize their potential--whatever that may be--whether that means attending a four-year university, Junior College , Vocational School, Military or entering directly into the workforce. 
​
Regardless of the path that students may choose to take, we realize that proper preparation is key in finding and seizing the opportunities that life has to offer. 


Therefore, the MAC Scholars of SCW will strive to offer resources and support to help students position themselves for future success.

Expectations of MAC Scholars

  • Desire to obtain higher education or training after completing high school. 
  • Enroll in college prep classes including honors, college credit and advanced placement courses. 
  • Strive to achieve and maintain a high GPA.
  • Maintain a minimum of 95% attendance rate during all four years of high school. 
  • Abstain from drugs and alcohol. 
  • Display good citizenship within the school and out in the community at all times.
